Every medicine features a certain storage condition and its own material safety data sheet. Consistent with that each medicine must need to main for the effective action of life savings of a person. There is some biological medicine that needs to maintain from its staple to consumption with a special arrangement than generic drugs for all times saving of individuals. Otherwise, it acts as a harmful rather than useful action. Now let's know about it.

What is a biological or biological product?
◆ Differing types of products include biological or biological products like vaccines, blood, blood components, allergens, somatic cells, gene therapy, tissues, and recombinant therapeutic proteins.
Biologics are often formed from sugars, proteins, nucleic acids, or through complex combinations of those components or from organic components like cells and tissues.
Biologics are isolated from a spread of natural sources like human bodies, animals, or microorganisms and are prepared using biotechnology and other cutting-edge technologies.

How do biological products differ from conventional medicine?

Especially, the availability chain through which temperature-controlled medicines are managed, transported, and stored is named the cold chain.
The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends that nearly all vaccines (a sort of biological product) be stored at a temperature of two to six degrees Celsius.
Vaccines and other biologics should be stored during a refrigerator that maintains a continuing temperature of two to six degrees Celsius and therefore the refrigerator should be kept during a safe place where public access is protected without permission.
Cold chain medicine is the medicine that has got to be maintained so as to take care of the standard and effectiveness of the drugs.

Why maintain a chilly chain?
Maintaining the cold chain is extremely important for the well-being of the patient.
If the cold chain isn't maintained, the effectiveness of the drug is going to be reduced and it'll be ineffective. E.g.
● if the temperature of the drug drops below 2 ঃ C, it's going to freeze which can adversely affect the effectiveness of the drug. Additionally, the vial or syringe of the frozen drug may rupture.
● albeit the temperature of the drugs goes above 6 degrees Celsius, the effectiveness of the drugs may decrease.
If the cold chain isn't maintained, the treatment of the disease may become ineffective which can end in the death of the patient.

Precautions for purchasing cold chain medicine
Always buy cold chain medicine only from chemists, pharmacists, or home delivery service providers who purchase medicines directly from authentic sources.
Make sure that cold chain medicine is kept within the refrigerator before buying it.
Seek out a chemist, pharmacy, or home delivery service provider on the way to maintain a chilly chain during load shedding, especially when their chemist shop, pharmacy, or sales depot is closed.
Buy cold chain medicine from those that have a 24-hour power backup facility.

Always ask the chemist, pharmacy, or home delivery service provider for a way long the cold chain medicine will maintain the specified temperature inside the packaging. And make sure the use or storage of drugs within that period.
◆ always collect medicine invoices or bills and confirm that the drugs feature a valid expiration date by watching the expiration date. Don’t take broken, torn, or pre-opened medicine in any way.

Ways to preserve cold chain medicine
If you would like to store cold chain medicine reception, remember that cold chain medicine must be stored within the refrigerator.
Refrigerator refers to the part of your home refrigerator where we usually store raw vegetables or fruits and whose temperature is between 2 and 6 degrees Celsius.

Never store cold chain medicine within the freezer.

This is often because when opening or closing the door of the refrigerator, the drugs immediately comes in touch with the space temperature.
Do not place cold chain medicine against the within the wall of the refrigerator. Due to this, snow particles can accumulate in medicine.
◆ If there's no electricity, cold chain medicine is often stored within the refrigerator for a maximum of 4 hours. Therein case the refrigerator door should be kept closed.

Above all about the cold chain, medicine must be followed as per the international guideline of food and drug administration (FDA) and the World Health Organization. These are authenticated and for the life-saving issues. Anyway, this will not be violated and honesty is the best policy to stay itself for all types of management.
